Search Michigan Criminal History Through ICHAT

For a Michigan criminal records search, the Michigan State Police Internet Criminal History Access Tool (ICHAT) is the official name-based route for public criminal-history information maintained by the state. ICHAT expressly excludes categories such as warrant information, federal records, tribal records, traffic records and criminal history from other states.

Michigan law requires reporting of felonies and serious misdemeanors punishable by more than 93 days to the state repository. ICHAT exposes the public portion of that history; its exclusions still apply.

Do not expect warrant information in ICHAT.

How to document a Michigan search
